The Oklahoma Centennial Postage Stamp, unveiled in September at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum, finally goes on sale to the public tomorrow, January 11th.

Sure to be a collector's item, the stamp will be available at all 567 post offices throughout the state, and all will be offering a pictorial cancellation with the city's name and zip code. The postmark will have the Centennial logo and the phrase, "Centennial Station, First Day of Sale January 11, 2007."

As seen here, the stamp features the image of an Oklahoma sun rising over a river and makes reference to the musical Oklahoma! with the famous words, "Oh, what a beautiful mornin'." The stamp was designed by Mike Larsen of Perkins.

You may be able to get them at your local post office. My understanding is that they’re being sold nationwide. If not, you can order online through the USPS website: http://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10152&storeId=10001&categoryId=16810&productId=28753&langId=-1
