Oklahoma's Centennial Postage Stamp to be Unveiled

Wednesday September 6, 2006
As part of Oklahoma's 2007 Centennial Celebration, the U.S. Postal Service will be unveiling the state's official centennial stamp this Friday at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum. State officials have remained secretive about the design so far but say it isn't a specific person or location in Oklahoma.

The stamp won’t be available for purchase until January 11th. The image itself is an Oklahoma river and sunset with the words, “Oh, what a beautiful mornin’…” on the top. It was painted by Mike Larsen of Perkins, OK.
