OKC in Top 10 Nationally for Highest Disaster Risk

Saturday August 12, 2006
We may have great cost of living numbers, and we're doing quite well with jobs, but it's hard to escape the tornados in Oklahoma City. According to recent rankings by SustainLane, Oklahoma City is in the top 10 nationally for highest disaster risk.

The rankings, based on hurricanes, major flooding, catastrophic hail, tornadoes and earthquakes, have Miami, Florida in the #1 spot. Several California cities made the list, and Oklahoma City came in tied with Tulsa at #9.

Which are the safest cities, you may ask. Mesa, Arizona and Milwaukee, Wisconsin tied for the least likely to face Mother Nature's wrath.
