Salaries Worth More in Oklahoma City

Thursday July 13, 2006
According to Salary.com's Salary Value Index, Oklahoma City ranks 18th among all US cities in salary value. The index analyzes salaries, cost of living, and unemployment relative to the national average to determine just how far a paycheck stretches in each area. Although the ranking is very positive indeed, OKC finished behind Tulsa, which managed to crack the top 5 nationally.

The Top 5

  • 1. New London, CT
  • 2. Huntsville, AL
  • 3. Baltimore, MD
  • 4. Harrisburg, PA
  • 5. Tulsa, OK

The Bottom 5

  • 184. San Diego, CA
  • 185. San Jose, CA
  • 186. Stamford, CT
  • 187. San Francisco, CA
  • 188. New York, NY
This is more positive news on the heels of a recent study ranking OKC in the top 5 nationally at creating and sustaining jobs.
