Movie Mania - Did I Leave Out a Classic?

Wednesday April 26, 2006
I've received a very nice response from last week's Top 10 Movies Filmed in Oklahoma list. Most of the comments were of the "Wow, I didn't know that" variety, exactly what I was aiming for with a couple of them. However, according to several of my readers, I have made a grievous error. So I'm opening up the floor and asking for opinions.

The 1973 gangster flick Dillinger just has to be on the list, they say. With Warren Oates, Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, Richard Dreyfuss, Michelle Phillips and more, it tells the story of notorious gangster and bank robber, John Dillinger. It was filmed entirely in Oklahoma, with scenes shot in Enid, Nash and right here in OKC.

I have to admit I was not very familiar with this one, hence it's exclusion from the list. So now I'm giving you all a chance to tell me if I messed up. What do you think?

POLL: Should Dillinger be Included on the Top Movies Filmed in Oklahoma List?
1) Absolutely
2) Nope
3) No Opinion

Also, stop in to discuss the issue at the Oklahoma City forum.

Dilinger definitely should be on the list. I put it higher than Rain Man, though I guess I can see why not since Rain Man won best picture.
