Burn Ban Reinstated
Tuesday March 28, 2006
And just like that, Oklahoma is back under a burn ban. In the wake of Sunday's outbreak of fires across the state, there were questions of whether lifting the burn ban last week was the right call. Yesterday, the Governor's office reinstated the ban with only a couple of changes.
Ten counties in southeastern Oklahoma, including Pittsburg, Latimer, Le Flore, McCurtain, Choctaw, Pushmataha, Bryan, Atoka, Coal and Marshall, were left out of the burn ban. In addition, charcoal grilling outdoors is allowed under the current ban.
